PICTURES/!ReadMe

This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.

Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

    ===============

Use *ScrLoad <name> to load the pictures. Eg to load 'S.GLOBE', do
       *ScrLoad S.GLOBE
The correct mode will be changed to, and the picture will be uncompressed,
and the palette information set. You should really be in MODE 0,1 or 2
before loading a picture, as *ScrLoad doesn't change BASIC's HIMEM
pseudo-variable. It will switch between modes 0,1,2 as these all take the
same amount of memory. The pictures have been compressed with *ScrSave.
Some of the pictures are only 16k long when uncompressed and will leave
the bottom seven lines blank. This is because they were created with AMX
Art on an Amstrad CPC 464 by Greg Heslington. Thanks to Greg for: DISK,
JARRE, OBLITER, RAYTRC, VALKY, WMap1..WMap4.
