This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

PipeDream 4 Program disc ReadMe file This file includes information which is not present in the PipeDream 4 documentation. 1. Installing PipeDream 4 You may receive the message "PipeDream 4 is unable to load. Please reboot your machine and try again" when you try to run PipeDream 4 from the PipeDream 4 master disc. This will happen if there is not enough memory for PipeDream 4 to load into your computer and install. If this happens you will need to restart the computer, ensuring that no boot files are run. If you have an auto-boot sequence, switch the computer off, press and hold down the SHIFT key and switch the computer back on, holding down the SHIFT key until the RISC OS desktop screen appears. Then put the PipeDream 4 master disc into the floppy disc drive and click on the drive 0 icon. PipeDream should now start from the floppy disc and give you its installation dialogue box. Type your name and press RETURN. You should now have no problem running PipeDream 4. If you receive the message "PipeDream 4 has suffered a fatal installation error ..." then PipeDream 4 was unable to install due to the reason given in the message. In this case you must contact Colton Software for assistance. 2. Running PipeDream 4 If you are trying to load PipeDream from a floppy disc, you may get the message "System Resources can not be found". Before PipeDream can start, recent versions of the SharedClibrary, floating-point emulator and colourtrans modules must be loaded into the computer. These are provided in !System. The error occurs when RISC OS does not know where !System is. The best way of loading PipeDream in this circumstance is to put the Examples disc in and double-click on Preload. This will load the relevant modules and ask for the program disc to load PipeDream, completing the process with just one disc exchange. 3. The file PD3_users.4warned on the PipeDream 4 Examples disc describes spreadsheet differences between PipeDream 3 and PipeDream 4 and gives hints for overcoming any problems which may occur as a result. 4. The file Features on the PipeDream 4 Examples disc describes features of PipeDream 4 which are not documented in the Tutorial or Reference Guide. 5.
