Impact! � Circle Software. ========================== IMPACT! is a general purpose database program, having data import and export facilities utilizing the new draft Acorn C.S.V. file standard. This allows instant data transfer to and from spread sheet applications, such as Pipedream, Squirrel, etc, via direct RAM transfer where available. IMPACT! also incorporates facilities to make use of the ImpulseII module, produced by Computer Concepts. These facilities allow IMPACT! to merge data from the user's custom designed databases, into Impression. Being fully RISC-OS compliant, it is suitable for any Acorn computer running RISC-OS 2 or 3, having one M.Byte or more of memory, including the A4, A3010, A4000, A5000 and A540, etc, and will run in any screen mode. Demo Instructions. ================= To use the sample address file supplied on this disc, click Select on the icon bar Impact! icon to display the Edit Database dialogue box. Then click Menu over the Database box near the top right hand corner, and select Addresses. An index and filter may be used by selecting these from the menus available by clicking Menu over the appropriate boxes. Records may be browsed by clicking Select (or Adjust to go the oposite way) on the blue arrow icons. To search for a specific record. click Menu over the name field on the record card, enter say 'smith', and hit Return. Repeating this action, but using the Adjust button on the pop-up menu will allow any subsequent Smiths to be found. Searching may be done on any field by clicking Menu over the required field. Other dialogue boxes work in a similar way. To create a database, select Create from the icon bar menu, then drag the required fields from the Create box onto the blank record card. Click Menu over placed icons to make adjustments to the file field or card icon. Click meu over the card background to adjust the colour or placement grid. Clicking OK will create the new database, but this action is not possible until the program has been registered. Unregistered programs may be used to store additional names in the supplied database, and export and mail merging are also possible. Full instructions are given in the Impact!
