This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.

Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

   Ever wanted to MOVE a file from one place on a disc
  to another place on the SAME disc using the RISC OS
  desktop? (i.e. RENAME instead of COPY-with-delete)

   This useful application gives you control over just
  that. Once run, two buttons appear on the left of the
  icon bar- they are labelled COPY and MOVE.
   If you click on COPY, then normal desktop operations
  are done when you move/copy files.
   If you click on MOVE, then files will be re-named
  where possible instead of copied, thus saving you
  from waiting for the file to be loaded and saved as
  with the normal move (Note that this will rename the
  file EVEN if you drag the file icon WITHOUT holding
  down SHIFT).
   -If the error 'Bad Rename' occurs, then click on the
  COPY icon, and re-try your copy operation. (This
  happens when you attempt to MOVE (i.e. RENAME) a file
  onto a completely different disc!)
