I would like to give you an excuse for the errors which would leave you
with a feeling of satisfaction and the impression that I am a nice guy
after all but sadly I can't.

As far as faults with the disc itself are concerned you seem to have been
unlucky. doubly so because lately I have been over busy with my working
life to devote as much time to EUG as I would like and so I forget things. 

In my own defence, I have had to spend a lot of time reorganising SUNDAY
to fit single sided discs. SUNDAY is an excellent game. 

I am sorry though.

I am not really sure why ShipWREAKed didn't load but if you type CHAIN
"SHIP" it should.

The 'Silly Games'. Not sure. I checked these on my Elk and they seemed OK

I did, ages ago try to compile a catalogue of all back EUG's together with
known 'bugs' but I didn't get time to finish it or even get very far and I
am sorry I haven't got back to it yet.

There does tend to be a small number of contributors at any one time and
the most prolific contributors tend to change from time to time. Christian
Webber did produce some excellent work but he cannot be expected to
continually churn out programming. Some other excellent work has been done
such as that bloke who wrote SUNDAY.

This is the nature of EUG. It's a little chaotic, unpredictable, varied
some EUG's will be more interesting to some than to others. EUG will never
try to emulate the 'polish' of commercial magazines because it isn't a
commercial magazine. I have managed to organise it financially so that it
can continue to function if need be with a lot of members or very few. At
the moment it has a little less than a lot but a lot more than a few. This
makes EUG very flexible it the way it is produced, Regular features while
they may be nice are unnecessary and the format and size can be dictated
by what is available rather that what might be seen as being value for
money. 

Could I suggest that perhaps you could alter your expectations a little?
Perhaps see EUG as a window into what other users of 8 bit Acorn machines
are doing rather than as a source of software.

Provided submissions are not illegal or deliberately offensive they all go
in. Sometimes I hold some things over for future EUG's. Your Father Ted
screens will appear, never fear.

Finally you sent a note with your disc saying that you hoped I was not too
miffed at what you had written. I have very thick skin and am rarely
miffed especially at criticism. I had a letter some time ago from another
member  along similar lines to yours. I laid into him with what I thought
was the same strength as he used and enjoyed every minute of it. Sadly,
while he is still a member I haven't heard from him since and I do hope he
didn't take anything I said personally.
