This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Monitor definition files for use with PSCAN ******************************************* PSCAN has to run in a screen mode of 640 pixels by 512 lines with 32 thousand colours. Depending on your monitor, you may have to install a replacement monitor definition file to use this screen mode. If using an Acorn AKF60 monitor, install the replacement AKF60 monitor definition file as described in the PSCAN manual. The Acorn AKF50 and AKF52 monitor definition files already support screen modes of 640 x 512, so no change is necessary. Other monitors:- If you know the maximum and minimum line and frame rates for your monitor, you should be able to append either the 640x512a or 640x512b files to your existing monitor definition file. The MonList file contains the line and frame rates for a large number of monitors. The 640x512a file was designed for use on the AKF60 but can be used with other monitors as long as they support a line rate of at least 41.86 KHz and a frame rate of 78 Hz. The 640x512b file is less demanding, requiring a monitor that supports at least a 32.863 KHz line rate and a 60 Hz frame rate. To use either file it must be appended to your existing MDF, which you should find located inside a directory with the following pathname:- ADFS::HardDisc4.$.!Boot.Resources.Configure.Monitors.Acorn Inside this directory you should see text files called AKF50, AKF52, AKF60 and AKF85. If you are not using an Acorn monitor you may have additional files, possibly inside a directory inside the Monitors directory. Drag your existing MDF file into Edit. Move the caret to the end of the document. Drag the required 640x512 text file into the Edit window displaying the MDF file.
