The common starfish can be up to 25 cm. in length. It has five arms, the tips of which turn up when the creature moves. If an arm is damaged or broken off the starfish will grow a new one. It has blunt spines and is yellow to orange brown. It can be found amongst rocks feeding on bivalve molluscs such as mussels. In the spring the female lays her eggs in the sea for the male to fertilize. The eggs become larvae then develop into small starfish within two months. � *Text*22 � Draw� Hilighter �� P � �� P
