Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Help for using the Address Book
-------------------------------
There are various ways of displaying the Address Book, the means by
which the Address Book is displayed will to some extent determine its
initial state. The Address Book is a list of common email addresses of
people who you wish to contact, which you can categorise or access by
their alias.
The Address Book dialgoue box is split into two sections, the top
static section and the bottom resizable section which lists the entries
in the address book or the current category.
The category field shows which category you are currently listing, the
menu button to its right allows you to select a category of addresses,
display all addresses regardless of category, or create a new category.
The boxed section below that contains the fields for a single entry in
the address book.
The address entry
-----------------
An address entry consists of three fields, the alias by which you wish
to refer to the address, the name of the person to whom the account is
associated and the physical address of the account. The alias is used
to allow you to quickly enter and find an address without having to hunt
through the whole address book manually.
Entering a new address
----------------------
Entering a new address can be acheived by two means. Frist, accessing
the address book through the Add button on the message dialogue box, the
alias, name and address fields will have been set up for you already.
Alternatively you can fill in the fields yourself. To add an address
entry to the address book, click over the Insert button, the details
given will then be added into the address book under the current
catagory.
Finding an address
------------------
Finding an address can be achieved by two means: searching for it or
selecting it. To search for an address enter the alias into the alias
field and click on the Find button. if a match is made the details of
the matching entry will be copied into the dialogue box fields and the
Find button will change to Copy. To select an address just double click
on any part of its entry as shown in the list, its details will then
be copied into the top section.
Clicking on Copy will then close the dialogue box and send the address
back to the message dialogue box to be added to either the To or C.Copy
fields of the dialogue box from which you requested the Address Book.
Amending an address entry
-------------------------
To amend an entry, first find the address and get the entry displayed
in the dialogue box top section, but do not press the Copy button.
Instead make any changes to the name and address feilds required and
click on the Save button to make the changes. Do not change the alias,
if you wish to make a change to any existing entry. If you want to
change the alias as well, change it and click on the Insert button
instead, then you will need to delete the original entry.
Deleting an address entry
-------------------------
To delete an address entry enter its alias into the alias field and
Click on the Delete button, the entry associated with that will then be
deleted. Note if you are viewing a category, the address will be removed
from that category, to completely remove an address entry, Delete while
viewing All categories.
Adding an address entry to a category
-------------------------------------
First you will need to find the address entry you want to put into a
category and display it. Then select the category you wish the address
entry to belong and click on the Insert button. By this means a single
address entry can be part of many categories.
Saving addresses to CSV file
----------------------------
The disc icon next to the catagory menu button allows you to save the
current listing to a CSV file with the following headers: CATEGORY,
ALIAS, NAME and ADDRESS. Note: the current listing can either be all
your address book or just a single category. Also you will be asked if
you wish to include the CATEGORY field or not, see below for when to
use it.
Loading addresses from a CSV file
---------------------------------
This is achieved by dragging a CSV or text file from a filer window onto
any part of the Address book window. How the import occurs is determined
as follows:

Transfering a whole address book
--------------------------------
This is achieved by saving to a CSV file when displaying <All> and keeping
the categories field. Then drag the resultant file onto the destination
mailbox while displaying <All>.
Transfering a single category
-----------------------------
Display the category you wish to transfer and save the CSV file, keeping
the category field. Then drag the resultant file onto the destination
mailbox.
Sorting the entries
-------------------
You can sort the enteries in the address book by clicking on the column
header by which you wish to sort. You can sort by: alias, name (last then
first name) and address.
