This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Rosie and Jim - Jim gets the Sneezes ------------------------------------ Loading the software -------------------- Place the Demo disc in the drive and click the select button on the floppy disc icon (:0). First, move the font in the "Font" directory into your !Fonts directory, then either double-click !Fonts or re-boot your machine. This will load the fonts required for Rosie and Jim into memory. Now, open the window which contains the application !Sneezes. Move the pointer over this application and double click the select button. After a short delay the Sneezes icon will appear on the icon bar. This demo is a cut down version of the full product. Using the software ------------------ The Rosie & Jim Talking books have been designed to be very simple to use. Most activities are performed by a single click of the select button. The simplest way to start the demo is to click the select (left) button on the Sneezes icon on the icon bar. The main window contains a few icons; top and bottom arrows (forward and backward through the book), an mouth to listen to the story being read out and an eye to animate the picture. Clicking on any of the words in the story cause them to be read out. An options menu allows you to set whether single words or whole sentences (or both) are spoken. You can also set the volume and record a log file of the words.
