biobot/!BEEBARC/DOCS/UN.INF

This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.

Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

A command line utility to convert archives of BBC programs stored with .inf
files to RISC OS format.

Usage
=====

Usage: Un/inf <source dir> [<dest dir>] [-f] [-v]

Parameters:
-----------

<source dir>	The directory containing the BBC files, and their ".inf"
		files
<dest dir>	The directory to which the 'fixed' files should be written
-f Use RISC OS filetypes for BASIC programs and ROM images
 -v Verbose

Un/inf works in two modes. Which mode is selected depends on whether you
specify the destination directory or not. You cannot omit it in order to copy
to the current directory - if that's what you want, use "@" as the
destination.

Dest dir specified:
The files are copied across, renamed and their load/exec addresses
set. The .inf files are left intact, and are not copied.
This directory will be created if necessary.

Dest dir omitted:
The files are renamed (and kept in the same dir) and their load/exec
addresses set. The .inf files are deleted.

Any file without a corresponding .inf file is ignored.

(Allowance is made for filename truncation.)

The SparkFS 'not enough memory' bug has now been coded around :-)
