Manual/Page03
This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Draw TechWriter @ , Homerton.Medium Trinity.Medium L p D 1 - - p 2. Installing Larger p 8 D $ If you have a harddisc, then you will probably want Larger installed on that. This will p 8 D $ give faster access, will prevent disc swapping and will give you more freedom with the p 8 D $ r backdrop filing system. In addition, if you want Larger to start up every time you start p 8 D $ P the desktop, then installing it on the harddisc is just about essential. p D : $ Even if you are just going to be running Larger from floppy, it is still worth copying p D : $ Larger to a blank disc, as this will not only give you more room to work with, but will t p D : $ also protect against accidental damage to the original disc. L y D # # Installing to Harddisc D { ' V Insert the original Larger disc in drive 0 of your machine, and click the floppy icon on D { ' 5 your iconbar to bring up a filer window containing (among other things) !Larger. Now D { ' click your Harddisc icon, and find your way through the directories to where you want D { ' Larger to go. Finally, drag !Larger from the floppy window, into the harddisc window. D { ' (If you are unsure about any of this, then consult the Welcome guide supplied with D D { ' your computer.) d P D # # i Installing to floppy (on single drive machines) D R ' - First, insert a blank formatted disc into the drive, and click on the floppy icon to bring D R ' up a filer window. Next, remove this disc, insert the original Larger disc, and click on D R ' the floppy icon again. Now drag the !Larger icon to the original window, and change D R ' discs as prompted by the computer. (If you are unsure about any of this, then consult h D R ' the Welcome guide supplied with your computer.) d H D # # a Installing to floppy (on dual drive machines) D J ' & First, insert a blank formatted disc in drive 0, and click on the floppy icon to produce D J ' an empty filer window. Now place the original Larger disc into drive 1, and click the D J ' icon again. Now drag the !Larger icon to the empty window. (If you are unsure about D J ' any of this, then consult the Welcome guide supplied with your computer.) L b D # # { Software Protection. D d ' @ This installation is only possible because Larger is supplied without software D d ' protection. This policy has been adopted for several reasons. Firstly, by removing all D d ' software protection possible incompatibilities with particular hardware and software D d ' are reduced, so there is less chance of Larger being unreliable or just not working. D d ' Secondly, some software protection relies on making life harder for the user. This is | D d ' exactly what Larger is designed to avoid, so these methods are no good. 3 D ' ^ The only anti-piracy system used is a unique serial number encoded into every copy of 3 D ' < !Larger, that allows pirated software to be traced back to the original owner.
