This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

!UIM_Edit - Version 2.41 - 5th August 1991 This is the latest in the "Series" which started with the original !UIM_Hack which took over the whole Archimedes to run and all you could do was select a limited number of options with Yes or No. Then I started to get the hang of the WIMP Interface & Desktop, with the aid of FormEd, Beebug's Series, "Mastering the Wimp" and Mike (ES) Ironmonger's program in Risc User 3.8, "EasyWimp". This stood at about 5K, by the time I moved on from EasyWimp, my !Easy "Shell" stood at 15K plus and featured Interactive Help, Info Boxes and quite a bit more. Unfortunately, Easywimp only allowed One Window, upto 255 Icons (I think) and only worked in Mode 12, not 15. Version 2.30 on now allows any valid !UIM Character file to be dragged onto the iconbar icon or into the window and correctly compiles the amended date to be saved when SAVE is clicked on. This latest version now uses !Shell from Paul Hobbs in Germany as it's basis though I have been making a few changes here and there for my own preferences! It now works in any Desktop Mode, and in addition to an Info Box, has a Main Window, a Bonus Window and a couple of others which aren't actually used at present! If you have a copy of !Spy, you can also read the Interactive Help Messages that the program generates. Version 2.41 was completed 5th August 1991 and released into the Public Domain at this time. The fancy icons are created with the help of FormEd and interface from Simon Huntingdon, thanks to him for developing such a tasty tool.
