P�"I remember seeing Uridium on the C64 and wishing it was available for the"

"P�"Elk. Psycastria is the nearest thing to that amazing game and is a pretty"

,M�"good version in it's own right. In this game you fly a craft over a 3D"

6O�"background.The view is always from above, and your mission is to destroy"

@O�"circular fuel pods. Easy eh?...not quite you have to watch you don't fly"

JO�"into buildings or get shot down by alien craft. There are four levels to"

TK�"complete and you have to be good to get through   them all. The game"

^Q�"itself runs in mode 2 and the colours are well chosen even if the graphics"

hP�"are a little chunky and sometimes misleading ( it takes a while to figure"

rN�"out exactly what you have to destroy!). Sound is above average although"

|P�"the start screen tune is thoroughly irritating and you may find the sound"

�P�"off option a blessing. There are also some scrolling credits on the start"

�Q�"screen that run far too fast to read. It is well worth investing in a copy"

�O�"of this game although I myself have a few reservations. Firstly the game"

�M�"does not support joysticks ( contrary to the inlay card ) and secondly"

�O�"when you have lost a life you have to start all over again. Those of you"

P�"to be one of the better ones. In this game you are oolong, kung fu master"
M�"and battle takes place in front of a beautiul, animated waterfall. You"
&N�"have to defeat six opponents ( inlcluding flying pots and pans ). After"
0O�"this you are transported to another scene ( a pagoda ) in which you must"
:M�"face a further six foes. The game runs in mode 2, but the graphics are"
DO�"excellent, among the best i've seen on the Elk. Sound effects are basic,"
NO�"but they do not intefere with the playability of the game. It would have"
XM�"been nice if the game would have supported joysticks, but I suppose we"
bN�"can't have our cake and eat it. Keyboard control is tricky, but I found"
lQ�"that opponents could be defeated by repeating only one or two basic moves."

�N�"When the Elk was released onto the market, it was intended to cater for"
�M�"those looking for a cut price BBC ( yes, I was one of these people! )."
�Q�"Unfortunately it was also a 'cut down' BBC lacking many of the features of"
�N�"it's big brother. Speed and four channel sound were compromised and for"
�Q�"the gamer this meant that BBC titles compatible with the Elk were slow and"
Q�"the sound normally consisted of a few bleeps. Many conversions for the Elk"
N�"( from the BBC ) still contain the coding for the BBC sound system, the"
O�"Elk just ignores it. Well if you have sloggers turbo board and a Project"
 O�"Expansions sound cartridge, the picture changes dramatically! Old pieces"
*P�"of software are given a new lease of life, while BBC compatible games run"
4M�"at their normal speed and the sound system springs into life. Take for"
>Q�"instance PAPERBOY by Elite. This Atari converison runs very slowly and the"
HN�"sound consists of simple two tone bleeps. With the slogger turbo board,"
RI�"the game speeds up and becomes much more playable, while the sound"
\N�"cartridge provides tunes galore! Please note that NOT ALL software will"
fN�"benefit from these two expansion devices. Some games will accept either"
pO�"one or the other, and some might not even load. What I can say is out of"
zK�"the 100 or more games I have, roughly 70% can benefit from these two"
