L/Eccles1

This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.

Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Dear EUG

I have neglected you and I offer the following excuses:-

    1. I have always tended toward using a beeb rather
        than my electron.

    2. I have become disloyal by buying a Pentium PC.

    3. My electron is broken, (and I cannot read your
disks on my beeb or PC!)

However, I still love my electron and would like to stay
with you if youcan help me mend it.

I'm sure it's a common fault - after a while, 5, 10, 20
minutes, thescreen suddenly goes bright yellow with lots
of irregular parallel linesacross it. I lose all that
was on it and have to switch off. Later, itmay be OK for
a while.

I have a spare machine, so if it is a simple task of
swapping a chip ortwo over, I can manage that. I cannot
use the spare as it is bogstandard, while my broken one is
64K with MRB.

If you or any of your colleagues can get me up and running
I would beforever grateful. In the meantime, I enclose
sufficient to hopefullybring me up to date with your disks
- my last one was EUG 17 (Dec 94).

EXCUSES NOT ACCEPTED. EUG RUNS VERY WELL ON THE BEEB, A
NUMBER OF MEMBERS USE THEM.

SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR PROBLEMS. COULD BE DUE TO POOR
CONTACTS ON SOME OF THE CHIPS, PERHAPS THE ULA? TRY GENTLY
MOVING ANY CHIPS WHICH ARE IN SOCKETS UP AND DOWN.

YOU CAN HAVE IT REPAIRED BY CONTACTING SLOGGER OR JAFA.
ALTERNATIVLY YOU COULD HAVE YOUR MRB PUT INTO YOUR GOOD
MACHINE. GO FOR IT THOUGH, THE ELK IS WORTH REPAIRING.
