!SceneItAW/Messages

This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.

Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

PRM:This \w controls scene generation.|mMove between icons using the up/down cursor keys.|mPressing RETURN while the caret is in an icon will have the same effect as clicking on 'Terraform', starting scene generation.
PRM0:\Sgenerate a scene from these parameters.
PRMi:This value determines which 'random' scene is created.|mUse any integer.
PRMj:This value determines the size of image to be generated.|mTry 7, 8 or 9, though integers 3 to 9 are permitted.
PRMk:This value specifies the scape's statistical fractal dimension.|m2.15 is recommended; any value between 2 & 3 permitted.
PRMl:This value should usually be left at 1.0. Lower values, between 0.0 and 1.0, cause high frequency components in the scape to be zeroed, giving an unusual smooth wavy appearance.
PRMm:This value determines sea-level and should be between 0.0, for an arrid scape, to 1.0 for an ocean.
PRMn:This value causes the scape's elevation to be distorted.|mIt may usefully range from 0.0 to 10.0. Try 0.0, 0.3, 1.0 & 3.0. A value of 1.0 gives no distortion.
PRMo:This value linearly scales scape height.|mIt may range from 0.0 to 1.0, with 1.0 giving maximum variation in scape heights.
PRMp:Land within a scape has an intrinsic colour based upon its elevation & slope.|mThis value determines their relative importance - 0.0 for pure height dependence, 1.0 for pure slope dependence, with intervening values for mixes.
PRMq:This value determines the level of fog present, from 0.0 for a clear scene, to 1.0 for maximum concealment.|mFog colour is given by the first entry in the Sky palette.
PRMr:Scapes are rendered using parallel projection, with the view itself parallel to one axis of the scene.|mThis value determines inclination from which the scene is viewed - 0.0 for a side view to 1.0 for a plan view. Try 0.3.
PRMs:This value must be either 0, 1, 2 or 3.|mIt determines from which side the scene is viewed.
PRMt:Scenes are periodic (opposite sides mesh together in a perfect match), thus they may be 'scrolled' with wrap-around.|mThis value, an integer from 0 to 511, gives the scroll along the X-axis.
PRMu:Scenes are periodic (opposite sides mesh together in a perfect match), thus they may be 'scrolled' with wrap-around.|mThis value, an integer from 0 to 511, gives the scroll along the Y-axis.
PRMv:This is the name of the palette to be used in colouring land according to its height.|mType the name of any palette, present in the Palettes display, into here, or drag a palette from the Palettes display into this icon.
PRMw:This is the name of the palette to be used in colouring land according to its slope.|mType the name of any palette, present in the Palettes display, into here, or drag a palette from the Palettes display into this icon.

PRMy:This is the name of the palette to be used in colouring fog and sky.|mType the name of any palette, present in the Palettes display, into here, or drag a palette from the Palettes display into this icon.
