Bright/!Cassette/!!Read
This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

o The user can now select which fonts they
want to use in the RiscOS printout
o FORMAT option added to main menu
This will allow all your tapes to have a
more consistant look, by forcing the case
of the entered text.
o Supports Iconization to PinBoard (RiscOS 3)
o If started up in a Multi-Sync mode on a
RiscOS 3 machine, High resolution sprites
are loaded and used.
o Will do 'Drag-a-sprite' on RiscOS 3 machines
if set to do so.
o Co-Operates with Desktop save requests from
the Task Manager on RiscOS 3 machines.
o On the A4 portable, responds to power low
message and saves the current file to
<Wimp$ScrapDir>.
o If ROM FONTS are used (ar any other which
have been 'upgraded' to include Kerning
information) the Kerning is automatically
used.
Bug Fixes since V0.98

o On printout, the Right hand title was 5
OS units lower than the left hand title
o Format routine missed the bottom section
of side one completely.
o The order in which the text and the lines
are drawn has been altered to improve the
final look of the inlay. This is only
noticable on Laser or Inkjet output.
o It was possible to enter a 6 digit tape
number. However you could only load 5
digit numbers from file. Both values are
now 6. You are recomended to stick to 5
as this fits the layout better.
o If any of the resource file are missing
or corrupt, a more useful error message
is given. (Was just CHANNEL!)
PLEASE NOTE:
The autosave feature on A4 machines has not been
tested. The information was gained from a draft
proposal from ACORN. If anybody out the has an A4
and can actually verify if it works or not, I would
be very gratefull to hear from you.
