This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Help for !Aquarium
==================
!Aquarium is the latest in backdrop technology. It is
similar to !BackDrop2, except instead of placing a
picture in the background of the desktop, it shows an
animated scene (An aquarium).
The options available from the main menu are:
* Info
* More fish
* Fewer fish
-These two options allow you to increase/decrease the
population of your aquarium. Decreasing the number
of fish will cause the remaining fish to swim faster.
If you are lucky enough to have an ARM3 chip, use More
fish to add fish until their speed comes back under
control!
* Save state
-This allows you to save the current 'State' of your
aquarium (How many fish are in it). This will be used
as the default state whenever you run the application
in future.
* Sound
-No aquarium would be complete without a good bubbling
noise, but if this noise bothers you, you can turn it
on/off with this option.
* Quit
-This moves your aquarium out of sight and hearing until
you run the application again!
Coming soon (?):
* Feed the fish/Autofeed options
-With this option you will be able to take responsiblility
for your own fish. You will be required to 'Feed the fish'
on a regular and loving manner. Note well that over- or
under-feeding fish can be hazardous to their health!
* New and exciting varieties of fish!
* Lot's of really really secret things that I can't tell you
about just yet...
NOTE: The colours used mean that !Aquarium only looks good in
16 or 256 colour modes (2,9,12,13,15...). For 2 and 4
colour modes, double click the palette file '!GreyPal'
in the application directory. This makes fish visible!
Due to speed restrictions, there is no point in running
!Aquarium in modes such as 16 and 24, so I have not
bothered to scale the picture to 'fit' these screen modes.
