Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

!SIBVOICES (Sibelius voices) (c) Sibelius Software 1995 This is a simple application which installs your favourite voices to play through the internal sound system. The voices are installed automatically as soon as !SibVoices appears on your desktop. They will then appear on suitable menus in your music programs e.g. on the 'Play->Speaker voice' menu in Sibelius. !SibVoices includes piano, strings, pizzicato strings and choir sounds. INSTALLING If you want to use the voices, it's best to drag !SibVoices into the directory where you have installed Sibelius. When your computer 'sees' !SibVoices, it automatically installs the voices for use by Sibelius (or other music programs). If you don't want to use the voices (e.g. if you always use MIDI playback), leave !SibVoices in a directory where it won't normally appear on your desktop. This will stop the voices being installed and wasting memory. CHANGING THE VOICES To change which voices are installed: while holding down Shift, double-click on !SibVoices. The 'Used' directory contains the voices to be installed. 'Unused' is a convenient directory to put spare voices. If your computer often runs short of memory, transfer some of the voices from Used into Unused so that they aren't installed in future. The best voice included is called Sibelius-Piano. If you find it so loud that it distorts, swap SibPiano in Used with SibPianoQ in Unused. This is a quieter version of the same sound. Note that these voices are both called Sibelius-Piano on your speaker voice menu and cannot be used simultaneously. LICENCE !SibVoices is (c) Sibelius Software 1995. Both versions of the Sibelius-Piano voice are (c) Stephen Singer and Sibelius Software 1995. They are sold as part of your Sibelius 6 or Sibelius 7 licence, so are NOT to be distributed to other people. Please, of course, feel free to add your own voices in the Used and Unused directories.
