This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

ALPS was designed, written and coded by Philip
Hawthorne, with additional coding and sprite designs by
Keith McAlpine of Gem Electronics.
This is an example of the extra help facility provided
by the 'Filer'. There are other help files on the
!starter and !Demo applications. You can add a similar
facility to your own games. Details are given in the
ReadMe file on this disk.
Interactive Help
================
ALPS 5.09 is a multi-tasking RISC OS application and, as
such, it provides interactive help via the !Help
application supplied on the "Applications Disk 1".
Alpine Software recommend that new ALPS owners install
and use this facility until they become accustomed to
the use of ALPS. To install !Help double-click the !Help
icon in the "App1" directory viewer. Now insert your
ALPS disk and double-click the ALPS icon to install ALPS
on the icon bar. ALPS will now provide information about
its main windows and icons.
