Rep2B
This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

A file called WORKS will be created whenever Turbo is used - this allows use of the menuing window, and also provides a method of recovering your document if the machine crashes. Message to all users: This program is not public domain in that I hold the copyright and do not give permission for people to alter the software without my consent. You may however make copies and give them to friends etc. All I ask of you is that each user sends me a postcard with their name, address and machine type, so that my records are kept up to date. Using the program Run the program by typing CHAIN "TP1" and pressing RETURN. You may build this into a !Boot file if you wish. After the opening screen, you will be presented with a menu from which you may select options using the up and down arrows and pressing RETURN to select. The various options are detailed below. Create new document - This starts you with a blank screen, ready to enter your text and graphics, see Editing on next page. Edit saved document - Same as create new document except that a filename is prompted for an already saved page. View saved document - Allows you to see the image on screen. Print document - For sending to an EPSON FX compatible. Either prints FULL PAGE size or POSTCARD which is ideal for adverts. Star Command - Allows you to use OS calls. Exit Application - Quits to BASIC. Editing There are 7 options from the editing menu: Headline Text: This is normal width but 8x the height of standard text and is therefore ideal for headlines. Normal input: Standard size text, or hold down TAB with letter for double height. Graphics on: Allows you to draw lines, boxes etc, using arrow keys. Graphics off: Allows you to move graphics cursor without drawing. Spray Can: Produces the effect of a spray can on your document. Bubble Text: Produces eyecatching outlined bubble text. Save Document: Saves file and returns to main menu. When using the graphics and spray cans, holding down the shift key makes the cursor move at 10x normal speed. Always press F0 to return to the editing menu when working on your page. THANKYOU FOR SUPPORTING THIS SOFTWARE, USERS OF IBM PC'S READ ON: The author of this software also has for sale various utilities for the IBM PC range of machines, including GLASS a graphic user interface for the lower powered machine - this may be converted to the BBC should I have sufficient requests. Anyone purchasing a copy of the Glass GUI for the PC is also entitled to Turbo Publisher Support, provided that I am still using a BBC Micro. Neil Gorin 2nd September 1991 Revised 23rd November 1991 This is the readme document file for TURBO PUBLISHER VERSION 2.01 This software is not public domain in that I hold the copyright (1990) and do not permit persons to make modifications to the code. It is therefore SHAREWARE, a concept that is popular on the IBM machines. Basically, you may give away copies of this program, as long as this file and the manual are included. You may distribute this program through PD librarys and give it to friends. The only difference as far as the user is concerned is that I request that you register the program. In IBM terms that means send me some money, but for this software all I want is a postcard with your name, address and phone number, to add to my list of satified customers. PC USERS: A new GUI for XT class machines - GLASS, for more details contact Neil Gorin at 4 Rookwood Drive, Stevenage, Herts SG2 8PJ.
