!Sibelius7/!Help/Players

This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.

Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

CHANGING PLAYERS

   Go into the TextPlayers window
Select the bullets of the players who are
    playing
   Click on OK
Position the text by clicking Adjust.

When you click Select on player text the whole
text is highlighted without a caret appearing.
You cant edit text in the Players style
because of its special format, but you can
copy, drag and Delete it like other text.
Similarly you cant edit the automatic player
numbers at the left of systems: they simply
reflect the players current on the staves.

a 2

If all the players of a woodwind or brass
instrument are playing a passage in unison, it
is normal to write 'a 2', 'a 3' etc. instead
of '1.2.', '1.2.3.' etc. When the Unison
switch is selected for a piece of player text,
  Sibelius does this automatically.

ABBREVIATIONS

Sibelius writes longish runs of consecutive
player numbers as (say) '1-4' rather than
'1.2.3.4' for clarity. Similarly it writes
  more complicated selections as '1.2.5-8',
  '1-4.8-12' and so on.

ROMAN NUMERALS

  Switching House stylePlayersRoman numerals
on makes all player numbers show as e.g.
  'I.II..
