This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.

3D - Maze Version 1.00 ----------------------- This is a relatively simple 3D Maze game, of the sort that appeared on the BBC/Electron about ten years ago and as such the plot is essentially dispensible so I haven't bothered to write one. The basic idea of the game is to escape from the ten progressively bigger levels of the maze, collecting as much treasure as possible. However, you only have a limited supply of oxygen to complete each level, although extra cannisters can be found in the maze. You also have a scanner to assist you. Various boxes are scattered through the maze, containing :- Oxygen cannisters - replenish your air supply Scanner batteries - Boost the range of your scanner Silver / Gold - Boost your score Keys - Neccessary to get out of a level Somewhere in the maze is a trapdoor to the next level. To exit a level you require a certain number of keys, indicated on the status bar at the bottom of the screen along with your score and the number of extra batteries you have for your scanner. The controls are :- 'Z' - Rotate left 'X' - Rotate right '/' - Walk forewards 'S' - Activate scanner 'M' - Toggle music on/off (also works on title page) SPACE - Pick up box or enter trapdoor The symbols on the scanner are :- SOLID BLOCK - Wall '*' - Box 'K' - Box containing key '.' - Trapdoor to next level Thats about it as far as 3D-Maze is concerned, except for the cheat mode which I'll leave for you to find. ---------------- 3D - Maze will detect any file you put in its directory under the name of GameMusic and attempt to get the QTM tracker player to play it.
