This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Help for MathsGen Demo
----------------------
Creating a Worksheet
--------------------
Clicking 'Prepare' creates Worksheets on screen.
Any number of Worksheets may be tried out using the permutations available.
Saving Worksheets
-----------------
When the appropriate Worksheet has been generated click 'Save'.
Two Worksheets will be saved, side by side, in DRAW format. Both will
be sums, both answers or one of each, determined by the 'Answer choice'
selection from the Worksheet menu.
The DRAW file thus created will be saved in the !Saved directory (see below),
which will open automatically if 'Open saved' has been selected from the
Options screen. Otherwise a message will appear eg "'Sheet 1' saved.".
The Sheet number is calculated automatically by Maths Gen.
NB the 'Save' option is only available with Addition Worksheets
on the Demo version
!Saved Directory
----------------
Worksheets will be saved into a !Saved directory (Two striped pencils).
You may copy this directory by dragging it into any window, but
double click in the !Saved directory of your choice to let the
computer know where you want your Worksheets saving.
Print Shift
-----------
'Print shift' from the Options screen determines where on the DRAW file
the Worksheets appear. The default is 6.
A higher number moves everything to the right and a lower value moves to the left.
To discover the correct setting for your printer first load
the printer driver, then prepare and save a Worksheet.
Load the DRAW file created in DRAW and select the option in DRAW
which shows the paper limits.
A grey border will appear around the edges and will indicate whether
a lower or higher value is needed to move the figures into the
white printable area.
Save Choices
------------
'Save choices' in the Option screen will save the options chosen
and the Worksheet titles currently in use.
How to Alter Titles
-------------------
The Maths Gen Worksheets are headed by two titles.
The default titles are
Example Primary School : AT: __ Lev: __
Card 1Ab Name: Date:
Click in either title, delete and type in as appropriate.
Titles appearing on the Worksheet will be saved from 'Save choices'
in the Options screen. These will appear next time Maths Gen is loaded.
Maths Gen was designed for busy teachers who need to provide for
the precise computational needs of individual children or groups
in the fastest time possible.
