Dear All,
Following some criticism of the menus, I have made up a MODE 7 mennu for
those using BBC/Masters and modified the present menu using MODE 1 to use
four colours. The loader program then uses INKEY-256 to select the right
menu for the computer used. I hope this will improve the magazine.
I have had some fun putting on disc some programs from tapes that I have
been given recently for Gus to put in the magazine as and when he wishes
and included some brief notes. There are some useful utilities and some
games.
I am having some trouble with my Elk disc interface and cannot use my Elk
at present. The AP3 interface I have had since 1989 has been a bit dodgy
for some time and it seems that it upsets the Elk and all I get now is a
blank screen full of inverse spaces. I would like to have a PRES AP3/4 so
that I can have both ADFS and DFS. Also the ribbon cable of my dual
drives is faulty and I can only use single sided discs as the drive does
not switch the heads and, if I am not careful, the directory and FS map is
overwritten and the contents of the disc lost. Can anyone help? I have
put an advert in for the cartridge and cable.

Your menus look pretty fine to me, how you come up with these ideas.

I have tried to avoid using directories lately to speed up disc access. I
do hope this is not the problem
