+DIMON2

This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.

Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Dear All,

I am sorry that you did not get my new menus in Issue 41. Gus sent me
both versions of issue 41 and I have spent some time making some changes
to the Menus and PRINT program and they should now run correctly. All Gus
should need to do each time is to change the DATA lines and the issue
number each time. So I hope all is well now.

Regarding Alan Richardson's problem with the perforation skip. I have
said in a letter sometime ago that this depends on two variables in line
30 of the 'PRINT' program (lns and skplns) and are set at 60 lines to
print and 12 lines to skip. If these do not suit your printer and paper,
they can be easily changed and the program and re-SAVEd on your discs. So
that this not lost, I have added a paragraph explaining this at the end of
my info section so that it will be repeated on all discs.

I was very interested in Dominic Ford's Advanced CAD+ in tbe last issue
and have briefly tried it out but found that I could not load his two
files as, each time selected OPEN, I got a report - Fatal error and the
program would not run until I initialsed it again. One comment I might
make is that the capacitor is shown horizontally and there is no means of
rotating it as in my CAD+. Presumably you would need to add another one
to the menu ina vertical position. An electrolytic capacitor could need
four positions as it polarised. This may take up too much memory and as
yet we have no instructions on how this could be done.

I have been thinking that I may have to reluctantly upgrade to a PC too
and was interested in Ross Little's and Gus's comments and look forward to
any further comments that will help me to make my choice among the rather
bewildering offers!!!

I have made some further small changes to the game 'Quarters' with some
short notes on it for Gus to put on this disc - it is a good domino type
of game

Regards to you all and best wishes for 1999 if not too late!!

Richard
