This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Hints on selecting this Arcade Block Driver with various COMMS software:
!Connector
----------
Click Menu on its iconbar icon, and select Choices...
Click Select on the Serial icon, and then on the list icon beside the
Interface item.
Click Select on the Arcade driver so that it's ticked.
Check that the Flow control item is set to 'Hardware' and the
Port item is set to '0'.
Click on 'OK'
If you want to make the change permanent, tick the 'Save terminal status' box.
Click on 'Save' and then 'Cancel'.
!HearsayII
----------
SHIFT-double-click on the !Hearsay filer icon.
Open the 'Library' directory.
Locate a file called !SerialDev.
If not found, but there's a file there called !Serial, your copy of Hearsay has not
been set up for the 'Block Drivers'. Do the following:
Locate the file called !SerialDev inside the main !Hearsay directory.
Move it into the Library directory, and move out the file called !Serial into
the main !Hearsay directory, and continue.
Shift-click the !SerialDev file icon to load it into !Edit.
Locate a line about 12 lines from the end of the file that says something like:
setserialdev("InternalPC",0);
Edit this line to become:
setserialdev("Arcade",0);
Save the file.
Load HearsayII to the icon bar.
Note that you will need to restore the original files to their original
positions to use HearsayII with your modem without the Block Drivers!
To retain Block Driver serial port use, edit the same file to contain the
name of the right Block Driver for your serial port and modem cable
combination. For a Risc PC, this will probabaly be 'InternalPC', while for
an A5000 it may be 'Internal'.
Arcterm7
--------
Load Arcterm7, and open the terminal window by clicking on the icon bar icon.
Click Menu in the terminal window and choose:
Configuration > Serial port > Port driver
and click Select on Arcade Direct.
A few moments later an error window will appear saying:
Modem is not responding. Please check that is switched on and connected.
Click OK and ignore the message. The screeen should now say:
Arcade direct - alpha block driver

Press Return to connect...
You are now ready to connect your Internet access software to the Internet, and when
online (and Arcade is too) press Return to connect to the BBS.
