This disc contains a version of the DataVision� Lite
package. This is fully functional with a maximum
file size of 100k. This allows you to use all the
facilities within the confines of the maximum file
limit.
The DataVision� Software uses Mode 15 for 256
colours.
This software is not Public Domain or Shareware.
It is supplied at cost to demonstrate its facilities
to those who wish to evaluate it prior to purchase
an unlimited version (if required).
The User should appreciate that without the full
manual, it is not possible to try all the facilities
offered by this package, however it should become
obvious that DataVision� Lite offers the most
comprehensive relational Database features in an
accessible manner that does not require
programming.
The 90 pages of comprehensive documentation can be
bought from Acorn Computing for �17.95
This MegaDisk version is supplied with limited
documentation as a text file.

DataVision� Lite v1.3
This version will now operate correctly on both RISC OS 3 and RISC OS 2
machines with either ARM2 or ARM3 processors.
The 'Financial Accountant�' application database has now been included as an
example of relational database capabilities. It is suppied solely to
demonstrate DataVision�'s powerful relational facilities. Users can therefore
use this as a basis to learn how to create their own custom accounting suite
or other Business applications based on DataVision�.
Note that before selecting options from the DataVision� Icon menus, ensure
that the 'Next' bar in the 'Task Display' window is set as large as possible
to provide sufficient memory for the option to be selected.
Since the manuals went to press, an Import/Export facility has been added to
DataVision�, allowing textfiles to be read or written to. The Import option
requires a source textfile and a destination DataVision� database filename.
The Export option requires a source DataVision� database filename and a
destination text filename. The format of the textfile to be read should
exactly match the record field format of the destination database. All fields
in the textfile should be <Carriage Return> separated. Complete records
should not have an empty line in between them since the program keeps track
of field positions. For an example, export a textfile from a DataVision�
database and examine its format. This texfile can then be read into another
database of similar record/field format or appended to the database from
which it was created by using the Import option.
Note that DataVision� Lite is fully functional but limits all databases to a
maximum of 100 Kbytes (100000 characters).
