Juggle

Learn to juggle with this juggling tutor. Double-click on the Juggle icon to open the Juggle menu screen and select the juggling pattern and speed and whether or not the hands, pattern details and number of balls required are displayed while the pattern is being juggled.
The Keys
Juggling pattern - To select the pattern to be juggled, use the up and down cursor keys to highlight the pattern and press Return.
Juggling speed - To change the speed of the animation, use the left and right cursor keys. The higher the speed value, the slower the animation.
Hands - Press 'H' to toggle the 'hands' display.
Pattern - Press 'P' to toggle the display of the juggling 'site swap notation' for the current pattern.
Numbers - Press 'B' to toggle the display of the number of balls required to juggle the current pattern.
Quit - Press 'Q' to quit Juggle
Note that the above keys will only work from the menu screen.
Pausing the animation - To pause the animation, press Space. Press Space a second time to resume the animation.
Return to the menu - To return to the menu screen from the animation, press Return.
The Patterns
The patterns listed on the right of the screen are divided into several types: tutorials, more advanced patterns, site swap patterns and showers.
The tutorials are the patterns under the headings of:
3 ball cascade - Step by step
4 ball fountain - Step by step
5 ball cascade - Step by step
The idea behind these patterns is simple - copy the actions of the computer and then move on to the next one. After completing all the patterns under a heading you should be able to juggle that number of balls in the 'usual' pattern. However, this is not quite as easy as it sounds. The 3 ball cascade is relatively simple to master - after only a few hours practice you will be able to juggle with some confidence. The 4 ball fountain is harder. After several months of practice I still haven't quite got it. Learning the five ball patterns is harder still. Some people claim it can take months of hard work to get the 5 ball cascade looking perfect.
The more advanced patterns, site swap patterns and showers are a collection of patterns that offer a change from the usual cascades and fountains. Juggle will simply show you how the pattern looks when juggled correctly. It's up to you to decide how to juggle it. Site swap is a notation used by jugglers to describe on paper how a pattern is to be juggled.
