PDScheme/Atterer/!UnplugRM/Gria
This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Date: 01-01-1996 Happy new year! Hi there! Well, first of all, my address for those who want to contact me (Im not <not yet?> connected to the data superhighway, so youll have to put up with the super-snailmail trail): Richard Atterer Beethovenstrae 30 86391 Stadtbergen (thats near Augsburg in good old Bavaria) Germany Thanks are due to the following people without whom this program would not have been possible (alphabetically): - Thomas Alber and Eduard Pfarr for their support when I started up on Acorn computers - Mohsen Alshayef for ARCTOOLS, a non-Wimp, powerful monitor (hey, hows the weather in Bahrain?) - Dick Alstein for TemplEd, the best freeware template editor - Dominic Symes for Zap Also try out my other Freeware programs: - Show and ShowFast, two programs which show your 640x512, 256 colour (standard palette) sprites and fade from one picture to the next - SwitchF (SwitchFont), which provides a neat window so you can choose which of your hundreds of fonts should appear in Font name submenus and which shouldnt. Hey, all you lonely coders out there! There are several things I can do for you, if you want me to: - I can design icons for your programs. This is really fun for me, and I think I have become a quite good graphician since I started doing graphics about four years ago, so if you need an icon and everything you produce looks dull, dont hesitate to contact me. - I can translate Messages and Templates files as well as short (ie <15k or so) ASCII files into German for you. For us Germans (and also for Austrians/Swiss) its really not nice to be addressed in English all the time! Ill do this for free if your program is Freeware or PD, otherwise I want some money for it. However, even when its Freeware or PD, if you want something from me, I would appreciate it if you sent me as much good demos/PD software as possible! Note: I will be busy until about the end of June 1996 because then Ill be finished with school. (But you can be sure any letter you send will be answered.) One more thing: Even though I dont have much spare time at the moment, Id like to join (or found) a group of coders. One reason for this is that I know very very few other Acorn coders, which sometimes makes me feel a little bit lost in this big world with all those arrogant PC users (arrogant after I have mentioned that my A3010 hasnt got a harddisc;-) The other reason is that I have thought for quite some time about writing the perfect C64 emulator, which would count clock cycles. In my time, I did a lot of demo-programming on this best machine of all (however, I only ever finished one demo), and I think it deserves a good emulator. (Is it true that the emulator Mathias Seifert began to write wasnt finished? PLEASE write to me if you know anything about this!) I have already had some good ideas as to how to make it fast. However, I think that an emulator is a too complex program to be developed by only one person. I still have to finish programming another program before I can start with the emulator, but Id like to share my ideas with interested people. I hope to hear from you! Richard Atterer
